Welcome to Spectrum

Spectrum is a bias/article analyzer that helps users understand the political standing of news articles from popular websites. By simply going to an article, Spectrum sends the article data to a hosted backend model that uses natural language processing, neural networks, and machine learning to classify the article as left/center/right.

The backend model is currently hosted live so you can use Spectrum today! Note that Spectrum is also currently awaiting approval for the Chrome Web Store.

After downloading, navigate to chrome://extensions/, enable developer mode, click load unpacked in the top-left, and select the extracted folder.

Privacy Policy

Spectrum respects your privacy. The extension only collects the smallest amount of data to function. This includes the URLs of the articles you analyze, so that we can parse the article content on our secure backend. The backend will then analyze the article and return the political bias classification. Spectrum does not not store the URL permanently, and does not store any other data including your personal information.
